Netbooks: $300 of Overhyped Scrap

This blogs primary purpose is to express views on anything in the world from technology to the entertainment industry the sky is the limit.

First up, Netbooks.

When the Netbook was first introduced it was being advertised and talked about like it was the biggest breakthrough in computers. Its capabilities extended to basic web browsing and word processing, while you were seated somewhere, perhaps on a plane. Not to mention its internal memory grosses around 250gb minimum. I don't know about you but I don't plan to fill a hard drive with 250gb of text files. The hard drive makes it a decent solution to watching videos however so many people have an Ipod that is pointless. Additionally, the track-pad is horrid; have you ever tried to use one? I have, my girlfriend has one, and I don't see what the big deal is.

One other feature that it lacks compared to a desktop or even a laptop its battery life isn't long enough to charge your phone or Ipod. Yes you could plug in the adapter, but when do you really sit at a desk and huddle in front of your tiny Netbook? The truth? Never, might as well by a Macbook Pro. Heck, I lug around a 17inch one at times (I regret not going with the 13). Yes, it might be more painful to make it through security checkpoints, but I feel that con is outweighed by the endearment I have for my laptop.

With the Age of Smartphone in full bloom, it makes the Netbook seemingly obsolete. When you can buy up a 32gb phone card on amazon and do virtually all the same tasks on your phone from anywhere regardless of wifi where is their room for a Netbook?

Take your pick, but one thing is certain the Ipod will fade sooner than you know.
